Ran across this today. You’ve probably read/heard most/all of it before, but it is still worth reading and repeating. Don’t accept the status quo. Take risks. etc.

Just a quick update – I’m holding steady at about 152 lbs now. I had my body fat measured about a week ago and I’m down to about 10.6%

A friend sent me this the other day. Seems that our favorite Gulfstream-purchasing…err… leasing, corporation-merding, shareholder-looting, former CEO of HP is a possible running-mate for John McCain.

…Another reason to not vote Republican.

Yep. This morning after my shower I weighed in at 153.0 lbs. Not too shabby. I’ve gotten used to the new reduced-calorie diet as well – I don’t eat nearly as much as I used to, definitely eat more fruits and veggies, and am hardly hungry.

My only concern is whether I’ve slowed my metabolism down in the process, since I don’t really feel hungry and I think I should, especially since I’ve increased my activity level. ...I guess it is time to re-evaluate my block prescription and get my body fat re-checked.

It’s been nearly a month since I’ve been doing the Zone diet. I’ve also started doing some CrossFit. The net result: I’m feeling lighter, slimmer, stronger, and more energetic already.

Benefits realized already:

  • Flatter gut. The food baby is on its way out.
  • More energy. I’m not falling asleep at my desk after lunch anymore.
  • Slimmer waist. I don’t have to wear my fat pants anymore!
  • Reduced appetite. I don’t eat nearly as much as I used to. I have a better feel about when I’m satisfied vs. full.
  • More $$$ in my wallet. I’m not spending $5—$10 a day on lunch. (But we do spend more per week on groceries)

Benefits I’m looking forward to:

  • Strength improvements
  • Further reducing weight
  • Speed improvements – running and cycling.
